Me too. 
There’s no denying the world looks different than it did a few months ago. The adjustment is difficult and downright awful at times. I spent many nights with a glass of wine in hand trying to hold it together with all the stress crushing down on my shoulders. 
That’s why I started my coping journal. 
But that name… it’s such a negative mindset. To think I’m coping with this situation only made me feel worse. So I decided to change my mindset. 
And you can too!
Instead of losing my mind, I decided I’d rather come out of this unique situation empowered. I wanted to try something new; start a business, learn a new hobby, spend more quality time with my family, and I challenged myself to read a book a week—a pleasure I could only dream about before this!
This book—originally my how am I going to get through this journal—is designed to help shift your perspective like I shifted mine. I don’t need weekly nights out with the girls to be happy, or to go out to eat, or even to see movies; I’ve redefined my idea of happiness and I’m happier now than I ever was. 
Am I saying I’ll never go out with friends again? Absolutely not! I’m saying I’m not viewing this as something to get through anymore. I’m viewing it as an opportunity. You don’t have to cope with social distancing; you can thrive through social distancing!
This book covers several ideas on how to make the most of your time home as well as how the way we think about things influences how we feel about them. This book is a guide to get you moving in the direction you want to go while reminding you that you not only survive this time at home, but thrive in it.

ABOUT BROOKE

Brooke loves to travel! Unfortunately, with the world on lockdown, traveling isn’t really an option. Or not a safe one, anyway. Luckily, her second favorite pastime (beside drinking copious amounts of coffee and wine like every other sane person) is writing.

She discovered the lockdown has had a significant impact on every facet of her life—from her sleep habits to her productivity—so she decided to create her “coping journal.” But the more she looked at that name, the more she didn’t like it. So she decided to try to take on a new perspective and changed the title to The Happy Challenge: Thriving Thru Social Distancing. After many iterations and changes, she’s decided to make this book available to anyone else that wants to thrive through social distancing.

Brooke hopes her upbeat, positive tone and words will help others not just survive the lockdown, but help them thrive!
